Monday, August 13, the Empty Nesters of the Daybreak 14th Ward, numbering 22 and gathered at Grant and Debbie Beck’s house.

| Joann Clark and Debbie Beck |
We weren’t sure as to whether we should be insulted or not as Grant slapped comic book character names on our backs. But immediately he sent us off to find out who we were by only asking questions of the other participants so we had no time to complain.
Carl Aukschun turned out to be Superman since he astutely asked someone if he could fly.
Bonnie Alvord was Garfield, learning early on that she was orange.
Frank Young never did find out that he was Captain America since he was finding out the secrets of electricity at the time to read comic books, but no matter.

Lynn and Bonnie Alvord
(Yes, Lynne is wearing a flower in his hair) |
Joyce Heiner was Little Orphan Annie and no one had the heart to tell her.
We had a great time with plenty of food, and that is all that matters.
